Marie Clayton is a name that is familiar to many Marilyn Monroe fans as her books are published in various formats often with new cover pictures, with basically the same life in pictures theme, the text is very basic in re-telling the classic Monroe story.

This current release is presented in a hardback box cover with removable book and a DVD documentary film about Marilyn’s life. It was released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Marilyn’s death. This makes it a valid and attractive addition to any collection.

The book is almost the same as the earlier ‘Unseen Archives’ book, but with less pages and less photos. However, it’s still pretty packed with pictures. The DVD is actually quite enjoyable and has a good mix of her private and professional life, with archival film footage and excerpts from her popular films. It’s an adequate portrait and a good introduction the the Monroe legend, telling her story in a respectful and appreciative way.

The book would appear to have an international release and is easily available in shops as well as on-line, often turning up at an  affordable price.A nice little collectors item that’s a bit different and nicely packaged.
