I asked my mom about her and all she said was “she died 20 years ago”.

In 1983 while shopping for Barbie dolls, I came upon that doll in the red dress. I stared at it until my mom had to pull me away. I asked her “can I have that Barbie in the red dress in the back of case”? She said, “It’s not a Barbie doll, it’s a Marilyn Monroe doll!” I was spellbound and wanted it bad!

Then came 1987, when all the hype was coming out on the 25th anniversary and I heard “Candle in the Wind” and was hooked! I even asked my mom to listen to it because I wasn’t sure if was referring to Marilyn I had saw back in 1982. “Yes it is,” she said!

From then on, I was hooked and have not looked back since. I wanted everything I saw with this gorgeous lady.

In 1989, I finally got that doll I never stopped dreaming about. Now almost 28 years later, I adore this gorgeous lady even more, that now gazes at me from every angle in my house.
