I’d seen her lovely face on magazines at the newsstands in the supermarket and just stare.. I’d ask my mother ” Can we get this?!” with a huge smile on my face. I was 7 when I saw my first Marilyn Monroe film. It was River Of No Return. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen and asked my mom “Who Is That?”
I had the very first shock of my young life when I was told that WAS Marilyn Monroe and that she had died years before I was born. Naturally I was enthralled with anything that had to do with Marilyn. I was in the 4th Grade when I read my first Marilyn Monroe book for a book report surprising my teacher who’d asked “Do your parents know you’ve chosen this reading material?” I smiled and said “Yes It’s my mother’s.” I got a big smile from my teacher and did very well on my report.
I’ve been researching her life ever since while collecting memorabilia along the way. She’s left us all a vast body of work to enjoy and research!! A Beautiful Legacy!!
